Wondering what it is like to stay at the Chateau Elan at the Vintage in the Hunter Valley of NSW?
The Hunter Valley’s premier 5-star resort in the heart of NSW’s premier wine region overlooks lush green vineyards and an 18-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman. You can arrive by helicopter or drive the 2 hours from Sydney or even fly to Newcastle 45 minutes away.
The location of Chateau Elan at Vintage Drive Pokolbin puts you in easy reach of over 150 cellar doors. You are so spoilt for choice in the Hunter Valley.
Chateau Elan is not only popular with golfers but families too. There is an outdoor heated pool, a children’s playground, tennis courts, and a gym.
The Day Spa is open from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 4 pm on weekends. Unfortunately this time we did not have time to enjoy their range of spa treatments.
We had a wonderful experience at Chateau Elan at the Vintage from a speedy check-in and check-out, to excellent service from staff in the Spike Bar and Legends Restaurant and very comfortable accommodation with views.

Our Accommodation at Chateau Elan at the Vintage
Our accommodation was a King Twin Studio, open plan bedroom and living room with an oversized balcony overlooking the golf course. In the afternoon a family of kangaroos were seen grazing on the golf course in front of our studio.
The studio had a large ensuite bathroom with its spa bath and luxury toiletries. In fact, the size of the studio was a mighty 58 sq m. One of the largest studio rooms we have stayed in.
Facilities include a 42 sq in LCD-HD TV, a Nespresso Coffee Machine, a selection of local wines and gourmet products to purchase and even a complimentary hession monogrammed tote bag.
You can book a buggy transfer from your room to the Clubhouse, gym or pool between 7 am and 10 pm.
Electric Bike Hire is also available, check at Reception.
There is plenty of on-site parking available right outside your accommodation.

Dining Options at Chateau Elan
For breakfast, you have two options. The Spike Bar on the Legends Terrace from 7 am to 11 am or the Buffet Breakfast at Legends Restaurant from 7 am to 10 am. Bookings are required for Legends Restaurants.
We chose the buffet breakfast at Legends. The buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of choices and we had views over the golf course from our table.
We would walk to 19 Bar and Bistro in the evening for happy hour. The first night we ate at 19 and the 2nd night we enjoyed dinner at Spike Bar. We can recommend both. A family of kangaroos also played a visit at 19 in the late afternoon.
Note that 19 Bar and Bistro is not part of Chateau Elan. You cannot charge your food and beverage to your room account.
