Transport around The Sofitel Melbourne on Collins
There are plenty of transport options in and around the Sofitel Hotel. Purchase a Myki card if you are going to travel outside the Melbourne Free Tram Zone area. The closest outlet to purchase the Myki Card at 7 Eleven, which is very close to the Sofitel Hotel. Don’t forget to tap on and off. We used the Myki card to travel to St Kilda for the Sunday markets. Most of the time we walked, Melbourne is a very walkable city.
A good way to get your bearings is to take the free Melbourne Historical City Circle tram #35. You can join it a few blocks away from the Sofitel Hotel. The route includes stops for landmarks like Federation Square, the Melbourne Museum, and the State Library. There is audio commentary that highlights Melbourne’s history and attractions.

There are 363 rooms and suites at the Sofitel, ranging in size from 36 sq metres to 184 sq metres.

All rooms come with the extremely comfortable Sofitel My Beds. We love the Balmain toiletries that the Sofitel chain uses.
A welcome gift of wine was in our room on arrival.

The bathroom is a good size, and you can choose to have a ‘bathology experience’ in certain rooms and suites, depending on your membership. The experience features essential oil-infused bath oils, delicate flower petals, and curated classical music to create a serene and personalised atmosphere. Luxurious robes are provided.
As we are Platinum Members of the Accor Group, we were upgraded to the very spacious Junior corner suite with its own lounge and work desk area. As part of our membership, we have access to the Club Millesime lounge.
There is a Nespresso and coffee, and tea-making facilities as well as a kettle and a safe large enough to fit my laptop.
There are plenty of power points available and a central system for the lights.

Our Accor membership to the Club Millesime includes breakfast, afternoon tea and canapes and cocktails in the evening. Breakfast options were plentiful. There is an al la carte menu available, or you could choose from their hot buffet options.
Afternoon tea included meat and vegetarian sandwich or wrap options, and several snacks, cakes and biscuits.

The early evening canapes and cocktails always provided hot canapes and savoury snacks. A cocktail list was provided for you or you could choose sparkling wine, white or red wines or spirits.

We had dinner at their signature restaurant, No 35. The menu and wine list were excellent and the service from the staff exceptional. We can highly recommend booking the restaurant for a memorable dinner experience.
The Atrium is perfect for that pre- or post-dinner drink. The Bar is located on the same level as Club Millesime and No 35 Restaurant – Level 35 of the hotel.
