For our 4 night stay in Orange, we chose the Borrodell Vineyard which offers self-contained cottages, a Sky Bar highlighting the best of Borrodell Wines and their Sister’s Rock Restaurant with amazing views and a wine pairing menu. Borrodell Vineyard is rated as one of the top Orange winery accommodations.
There are so many things to do in Orange you will be spoilt for choice.
Where Is Borrodell Vineyard and Accommodation
Borrodell Vineyard is located at 298 Lake Canobolas Road Mount Canobolas 10.2 km outside Orange.
Driving from Sydney takes on average 3.5 hours.
Borrodell Vineyard has their own helipad if you choose to fly in with your own helicopter or you can charter one from Bankstown Helicopters in Sydney.
Orange Airport is 12 km away.

The Kingston – One Bedroom Chalet
70 sq m ground floor one bedroom chalet with views over the countryside. The Kingston sleeps two in an extra large double bed.

Somerset One-Bedroom Chalet
70 sq m ground floor one bedroom chalet with views over the countryside. The Somerset sleeps two in an extra large double bed.

Truffles 3 Bedroom Cottage
The 80 sq m Truffles is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom cottage with views over the countryside.
Facilities include:
- Two bedrooms include a large double bed in each and the third bedroom has two single beds
- Fully-equipped kitchen
- Washing machine
- Balcony with outdoor furniture
- Fireplace and air-conditioning
- Flat-screen TV, DVD player, CD player, Blu-ray player
Chardonnay 3 Bedroom Cottage
The 80 sq m Chardonnay is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom cottage with views over the countryside.
Facilities include:
- Two bedrooms with 1 large double bed in each and the third bedroom 1 double bed
- Fully-equipped kitchen
- Washing machine
- Balcony with outdoor furniture
- Fireplace and air-conditioning
- Flat-screen TV, DVD player, CD player, Blu-ray player

Our Review of Our Stay in Chardonnay
We chose Chardonnay for our 4 nights because of the 2 bathrooms and two bedrooms with large double bed for 2 two couples. Chardonnay was private with its own parking area and stunning views over the countryside. The kitchen was spacious as was the living and dining room.
Cereal, tea and coffee, orange juice and milk were provided along with a bottle of Borrodell wine to enjoy.
In the afternoons as we sat out enjoying local wines and snacks, we had visits from a local kangaroo family which delighted our English visitors.
Chardonnay was the perfect venue for us over the four nights. If you had an extended family or a group of friends visiting Orange you could book out both Chardonnay and Truffles as they were within walking distance of each.
Wine Tasting at Sky Bar Borrodell Vineyard
Having the Sky Bar and Sister’s Rock Restaurant within walking distance of your accommodation was a bonus. No drink driving and all in the party can enjoy the best of Borrodell Wines without worry!
Wine tasting at the Sky Bar came with stunning views in a glorious setting.
The Sky Bar is open for wine tastings from Thursday through to Monday from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm.

Sister’s Rock Restaurant
The Borrodell Restaurant – Sister’s Rock was a highlight of our stay. Orange is known for its gastronomic delights with a range of excellent restaurants and bars.
There are set menus available:
- 3 courses – $80 pp – 1st-course Marinated Heirloom Tomato salad with ricotta, rye crumb and gremolata, 2nd course a choice of black garlic gnoch=chi, salmon gravlax or grilled squid. 3rd course is a choice of either BBQ Murray cod, pork cheek or braised short rib.
- 4 courses – $95 pp
- Cheese 15/20 – Brie/Ruby Blue, quince paste and fruit toast
- NB There are vegetarian options available as well – the 3-course menu included a Marinated Heirloom Tomato salad with ricotta, rye crumb and gremolata, 2nd-course was salt-baked kohl rabi and 3rd course smoked beetroot.
- We chose 4 courses as the desserts looked amazing – we had to choose between either English Trifle, Dark Chocolate Cremeux or Local Fig Tart
- Borrodell Wines were paired with each course
Verdict: We are definitely returning, the food was excellent, the service superb and the wines were the right accompaniments to each course. It was the perfect way to spend our last day before heading back to Sydney.
Our overall experience of our stay in the Chardonnay cottage to wine tasting and lunch was 10/10. We could not fault our 4-night stay at all.
