Our Stay at Peppers Craigieburn Bowral

We arrived just a few days before Christmas and were delighted by the beautifully decorated guest lounges, complete with a festive Christmas tree, creating a warm and cheerful holiday atmosphere.

Our check-in was fast and efficient.

Our room was in the Elm Wing, and double doors led out to the balcony, which had views over the golf course. A family of rabbits were grazing just outside our window.

The room was a good size, with a comfortable bed and luxurious linen. The bathroom was equipped with a rain shower and toiletries. A desk and a lounge chair were provided.

After check-in, we drove to Centennial Vineyards, a few minutes away, for wine tasting. Their sparkling wine is a favourite of ours.

As part of our Accor Membership, we enjoyed a glass of wine at Hickory’s before heading to Bowral for dinner at Bistro Sociale, our favourite restaurant, when visiting the Southern Highlands.

Our buffet breakfast was served at Hickory’s Restaurant from 7 am.

Cereal, fruit, cold meats and pastries were available, and a hot dish was chosen from a limited menu.

Our check-out at 11 am was quick and efficient as well.

Did we enjoy our stay at Peppers Craigieburn? The property is over 100 years old, and some areas showed wear and tear, which is to be expected. We paid a reasonable price for our one night, but checking current prices now as I write this article, the prices seem to be quite a lot higher, which we would not be prepared to pay. It is a 4-star property and not worthy of 5-star prices. The location is perfect for visiting all the Southern Highlands activities, wineries and restaurants. I didn’t see any petite rooms, but I would presume at 12 m2, they may be a little on the cosy side.

Most of the guests were there to play golf. It is also a popular events and wedding venue.
