BIG4 Taunton Farm Holiday Park Margaret River
By Erin from Explore with Erin
It’s not often you’ll find affordable family accommodation in Margaret River so when I stumbled across the BIG4 Taunton Farm we packed up the 3 kids and headed down for a stay in one of their 2-bedroom cabins. One room had a Queen bed, the other had 2 sets of bunks, also included a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and patio for watching the sunset over the farm.
Taunton Farm is not your typical beach/pool stay, but rather a farm stay. On-site children can feed the farm animals, ride the tractors, or spend all day on the bouncy pillow. Which is what my kids did. There is plenty of safe space for bike riding or nature walks in peaceful rural paddocks. There are free gas BBQs and a log fire.
It is situated back from the busy Bussell Highway, 10 minutes north of Margaret River and 20 minutes south of Busselton. Next door is the Dairy Factory and not far at all is the Chocolate Factory. Even better.
Cape Lodge – Margaret River Accommodation Luxury
By Jo from Lifestyle Fifty
You’ll find Cape Lodge on Caves Road, between Dunsborough and the Margaret River town sites.
As a luxury small hotel, it’s received many awards including, “Best Boutique Hotel in Australia.” It’s hosted pop royalty (Kylie Minogue), celebrity master chefs, and Oprah Winfrey stayed here on her visit to Australia.
But Cape Lodge isn’t swanky. It’s quietly elegant, a private country house hotel surrounded by its own vineyards. The epicurean restaurant offers gourmet cuisine along with fine wines from the estate.
We love the accommodation which consists of just 22 private rooms with lake or garden views situated on 40 acres of parkland. You can stroll around manicured lawns and gardens, relax by a private lake, play tennis, or perhaps take a dip in the pool.
Chandler Smith Beach Villas
By Jane from Staycation Australia
One of the best family holidays we have had is staying at Chandler Smith Beach Villas whilst touring Margaret River.
The villas are located in Yallingup, just a 20 minutes drive from the wineries of Margaret River, Dunsborough is 15 minutes away and Busselton is a 30-minute drive.
The villas overlook Smith Beach which is 200 m away. The large balconies were perfect for enjoying breakfast in the morning and watching the sun go down in the evening with a glass of wine.
In the early mornings, the local kangaroos would come and pay a visit and you could see them grazing nearby at sunset.
Margaret River Tourist Park
By Bailey from Destinationless Travel
Margaret River Tourist Park is easily one of the best places to stay in Margaret River for those on a budget, or who love the outdoors! What’s so great about this place is that although it’s a “tourist park” or a campground with facilities, they also offer chalets featuring 1-3 bedrooms. These chalets are perfect for families or anybody who like to have a living area and full kitchen.
Margaret River Tourist Park also has a few great shared amenities on its grounds too, like BBQs and an outdoor swimming pool. This is perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring all of the fun things to do in and around Margaret River.
The location is also ideal, within walking distance to the main street in Margaret River, but far enough away that it’s peaceful and quiet.
Chalets and campsites are also super affordable here. It’s the perfect place to stay in Margaret River for families.
